CERTIFIED READY TO FIGHT AFFILIATE
McAlester is READY TO FIGHT
CrossFit McAlester was opened in January 2014 with 7 owners/coaches who shared a desire to bring functional, elite fitness to Pittsburg County. We offer coach led CrossFit classes throughout the day five days a week as well as a Saturday 10am WOD. Our coaches hold numerous certifications to offer the most qualified training in Pittsburg County. Coach Josh and Cassie hold certifications in CrossFit Kids so we can offer fun and fitness to the next generation as well. Through our partnership with the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma we know have boxing equipment. Our affiliation with The Engine Room Wellness Center makes it possible for us to offer Ready to Fight Parkinson's specific boxing. This therapy program is one more step in bringing functional fitness to the people of Pittsburg County.

COACHES BIO
Larry Lewis
Larry Lewis is a semi-retired Family Medicine Physician. Fitness has been his long time hobby. In 2005 he was introduced to CrossFit and he quickly became an advocate of the fitness plan. In 2014 he joined with six other CrossFit believers and opened CrossFit McAlester. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2012 he is convinced that exercise is one of the most powerful tools available to slow the progression of Parkinson’s Disease and to maintain mobility. Bringing The Engine Room Boxing Ready to Fight training program to CrossFit McAlester is another step in his fight against the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. Everyone at CrossFit McAlester is excited to be able to offer this Parkinson’s specific training.
Josh Carney
Josh Carney started his fitness journey at a very young age of 14, where he found and started CrossFit. Now co-owner and head trainer at CrossFit McAlester, Josh Carney is living his dream. Business partner and great friend of Dr. Larry Lewis, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago, became Carney’s motivation to reach out to people with Parkinson’s and give them a helping hand, exercise-related. Carney received his certification in the Ready to Fight, Parkinson’s specific program for boxing, so he would be able to change lives, build relationships, and have fun in the process!
